Biography: The adventure of the New World is what lured John Smith away from England. He wanted new sights, to see the world in a different light. When the ship carrying him and his friends landed, he got his wish. Forests and trees, ocean and coast, even mountains were there for excitement. It was while exploring that he met Pocahontas. She captivated him, being much more different than his female suitors in England. Over the span of a few days, the two fell in love and attempted to link their two worlds: the native Powatan Indians and the English settlers. It failed and after Thomas, one of the younger settlers, killed a powerful male warrior of the tribe who had been fighting John Smith, Smith was taken prisoner. The chief would have executed him had Pocahontas not saved him. Instead of the Native Americans attempting to kill him, it was Governor Ratcliffe, who owned the colony of Jamestown, who shot John Smith. As he was dying on a boat to England, Chernabog’s curse set in. John Smith became Vance Smith, a professor of American History at Yensidia University. His object is his helmet from his days as a soldier, which he has not found.
